Green Stocks Feb 23- Stocks Fail To Move From Tariff News

News of the US Supreme Court striking down the Trump tariffs raised hopes over the weekend of a bumper opening today, but that was not to be. The market has realised that one thing you will not get from the current US administration is stable, consistent policies. That explains the wider surrender of most gains by the end of closing today.

For the green pack, the day reflected the broader market, with most stocks starting strong, but ending where they started or a little weaker even. With not much to read into prove movements, the news from the US would presumably have helped the 3100 crore Cleanmax IPO, now open for subscription. As we have written earlier, the IPO comes from a quality firm, but at a pricey valuation that seems to assume business as usual for the near future as well.   

With over 36 GW of solar added so far in the current Financial year, a fresh installation record is already in place, with perhaps the only matter of interest being how far beyond 40 GW the numbers will go. A number in the 40-43 GW range would be a very good base to build on in FY27, and might in fact, prove to be almost aspirational if multiple challenges like lower tender flow, challenges with land acquisition, and more aggravate further.  Either way, with a not-so-bad start to the week, this final week of February should make for an interesting study indeed.
