Green Stocks Dec 30- KPI Green Zooms As Investors Await End of 2025

In one of its biggest spikes in a day, EPC player KPI Green Energy was up as much as 17% at one point, as the stock zoomed up. With no formal filing by the firm, it is anyone's guess what caused the jump, although it did announce a small order win for a waste-to-energy plant from NTPC yesterday. If it's a re-rating based on an entry into a new segment, we believe it is still overrated, although the firm's valuation itself remains more than fair.  
The story for the rest of the green pack, and the broader market itself, was one of a slump followed by some value buying, as a recovery came in towards the final 2 hours of the market operations. 

The magic that is MSEDCL pump awards seems to have worn off completely from stock performance, as all the solar pump firms have given up all of their gains and more that they made last week on the back of these announcements. One has to question the premise of the fall in these stocks, as their order books and margins certainly don't deserve such treatment, unless punters are betting on a worsening of the outstanding payments position for many of these.

With a day left for the year to end, investors would dearly love to see a reset and a fresh start for 2026, but with no break between the two years, don't expect anything too different too soon. We do believe that stocks have been beaten down enough, and a recovery of some sort is slightly overdue.   The only question is which sectors will benefit from such a recovery. For a Green pack, for so long the leader when prices were rising, the wait this time might be a little longer than most.
