Green Stocks Aug 11- Stocks Surge On Market Rebound

As the markets recovered after six weeks of drops, green stocks in our pack expectedly surged more than most, considering the higher growth momentum most have behind them. KPI Green was the deserving mover today, going up over 4% after the drop it suffered due to the broader market sentiment, despite strong results. Solar EPCs, as a group, continue to look strongly placed,   unlike even the erstwhile solar module makers, who are coming to terms with a possibly situation of over capacity in a couple of quarters. 

In fact, the ones to watch might be the large developers like NTPC Green, Acme Solar, and Adani Green, who have all suffered drops and are some way off from recent highs. A recovery in power demand, as reported for July this year, will aid sentiment further across the whole sector. What will be watched with interest, however, are the two wind energy firms, Inox Wind and Suzlon, both of which have been on a tear due to strong order books and revenue visibility for the next two years. However, risks are definitely higher for the sector with a push for more of solar and storage together rather than solar plus wind and some storage. Will any shift become visible more clearly soon? Time will tell.

On the other hand, if there is any green stock that has not made a move up today, then it certainly needs a very close look as to the reason why. Oswal Pumps, we know, has enjoyed a sharp run-up, so perhaps it is understandable, but Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy?  Now that stocks' failure to sustain levels close to where it was even a month ago should worry investors.
