Hybrid Project Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), a fully integrated ferro-alloys producer signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with AMPIN Energy Utility One Private Limited. Under the terms of the PPA, IMFA will source 40 MW of contracted demand through a hybrid renewable energy solution, comprising 58 MW AC of solar and 58 MW of wind capacity. The agreement is valid for 25 years. Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA), is India’s leading fully integrated producer of value-added ferro-chrome, a critical input in stainless steel manufacturing. The company has a market capitalization of approximately ₹3,350 crore. Commenting on the development, Bijayananda Mohapatra, Chief Operating Officer of IMFA, said: “This long-term agreement with AMPIN Energy Utility One Private Limited is a milestone in our journey towards sustainable operations. Ampin Previous Projects Earlier this year, AMPIN Energy Transition signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with medical device manufacturer Poly Medicure to supply 9.9 MWp of solar power to its five plants from AMPIN’s 75 MWp solar park in Kurungawali Sirsa, Haryana. Under the deal, about 35% of Poly Medicure’s power consumption at its five Faridabad plants will be replaced with solar energy. The shift is expected to bring significant cost savings, with solar power costs estimated to be around 30% lower than existing Discom rates. This was Poly Medicure and AMPIN Energy Transition’s second project, before that in early 2025, Poly Medicure and AMPIN Energy Transition formed a joint venture to develop a captive solar power project in Haryana. The project was undertaken to supply clean energy to Poly Medicure’s manufacturing facility, further strengthening the company’s renewable energy portfolio.
