ICON Solaren Signs Pact With RenewSys For 300 MW POE Encapsulant Supply

Indian solar module manufacturer ICON Solaren Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has signed a supply agreement with RenewSys India Pvt. Ltd. to procure 300 megawatts (MW) of POE encapsulants for its module manufacturing operations, the companies said.

The supplies will be delivered between January and April 2026 and will support ICON Solaren’s large-scale solar module production plans. RenewSys will provide its latest-generation POE encapsulants designed to improve durability, resistance to potential induced degradation (PID), and long-term field performance, the companies said.

Manufacturing of Encapsulants 

The encapsulants will be manufactured at RenewSys’s domestic facilities and are intended for use in high-efficiency solar modules as manufacturers increasingly shift toward higher-performance materials amid rising quality and reliability requirements.

India has set a target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030, a goal that hinges on expanding domestic manufacturing across the solar value chain. The agreement aligns with broader efforts to reduce dependence on imported components and strengthen local supply chains.

“At ICON Solaren, quality and performance are central to our manufacturing strategy,” said Shakti Dubey, director at ICON Solaren, adding that the partnership would help integrate reliable materials into the company’s module production.

Self Reliant Ecosystem 

RenewSys Vice Chairman and Managing Director Avinash Hiranandani said the deal supports India’s push for a self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem and aligns with domestic content requirements under national solar programmes.

RenewSys, part of the ENPEE Group, manufactures solar encapsulants and backsheets in India and is expanding into solar cell manufacturing. ICON Solaren is engaged in solar module manufacturing and engineering, procurement and construction services.
