Indian renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited has increased the share of hybrid renewable projects in its overall portfolio. According to the company’s latest disclosures, the Gujarat-based firm now has around 3.12 GW of hybrid projects under operation. The latest fuel-wise break-up shows that Adani Green’s hybrid capacity has surpassed its standalone wind capacity.

In its most recent regulatory filing, the company provided updates on its operational renewable energy assets, future expansion roadmap, and the new green energy capacities commissioned during the first nine months of FY26.

11.94 GW Of Solar Portfolio

As per the filing, Adani Green currently operates 11.94 GW of solar capacity, 2.17 GW of wind capacity, and 3.12 GW of hybrid projects, taking its total renewable energy portfolio to 17.2 GW. The company has set a target of scaling its total installed capacity to 50 GW by FY30. Its hybrid projects are currently located in renewable-rich states such as Gujarat and Rajasthan. the management has expressed confidence about adding the 7 GW plus of capacity every year it nmeeds from here to hit its targets.

Alongside hybrid expansion, the company has also outlined plans to add energy storage capacity in a phased manner over the coming years. It is already working on the commissioning of pumped storage hydro (PSH) projects across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. Under its long-term vision, Adani Green aims for its 50 GW portfolio by 2030 to comprise 71% solar, 13% wind, 5% hybrid, and 11% pumped storage projects.

Why Hybrid Projects

The company attributed the growing focus on hybrid projects to increased government tendering for hybrid renewable assets and the operational advantages of combining solar and wind generation. According to Adani Green, its hybrid portfolio recorded a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 34.8%, compared to 23.7% for solar and 29.2% for wind projects.

Adani Green further stated that it added 5.6 GW of renewable capacity over the last one year. Of this, 3 GW of greenfield capacity was added during the first nine months of FY26, compared to 0.4 GW during the same period of FY25.

During the nine months of FY26, the company commissioned 4.187 GW of solar capacity, including 3.13 GW at Khavda, 800 MW in Rajasthan, and 50 MW in Andhra Pradesh.

In the same period, Adani Green also operationalised 462 MW of wind capacity and 981 MW of hybrid renewable projects.
