Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has recently awarded a Wind Power tender in Gujarat to four winning bidders out of the original six bidders, bidding out a 306 MW wind power project out of the 250 MW project tender with a greenshoe option. The tender for this project was issued in September this year, and the bids were allocated after three months to set up a wind power project with an annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of not less than 25%.
GUVNL awarded the largest portion of the tender, approximately 106.40 MW wind project, to Powerica at a tariff rate of Rs. 3.44/Unit along with K.P Group, which was awarded the project at the same tariff rate but for about the 50 MW wind project.
The remaining winning bidders secured the project at Rs. 3.43/Unit awarded to Patel Infrastructure, ALFANAR Power for 100 MW and 50 MW, respectively. Other bidders that were unable to make the cut-off mark include Juniper Green Energy and Jindal India Power.

Previous Tender: A Brief Comparison
Based on GUVNL's previous wind tender, KP Energy has been a repeat bidder for wind energy projects. The company has previously won wind energy projects in its home state of Gujarat, along with other bidders. GUVNL has earlier awarded its 250 MW wind power project to bidders such as Juniper Green Energy, JGRJ Four Renewable (Jakson Green), and Inox Neo Energies (Inox Clean Energy).
In the erstwhile tender, GUVNL awarded the largest portion of the project to KPI Green Energy, which secured 100 MW at the lowest quoted tariff of ₹3.64/kWh. This was followed by Juniper Green Energy and JGRJ Four Renewable, which secured 50 MW each at ₹3.65/kWh and ₹3.66/kWh, respectively. Inox Neo Energies was awarded 50 MW out of the 100 MW it had bid for at ₹3.66/kWh, under the bucket-filling method. This marks a decline in the tariff rate compared to the previous wind power project awarded in the state.
