M S University’s Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) has turned into the principal grounds in the college where solar rooftop venture has been actualized.

In a relationship with the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), MSU is distinguishing different resources where the solar project can be actualized. As indicated by MSU authorities, the undertaking will help diminish the college’s vitality charge fundamentally.

“The proposal prepared in collaboration with GEDA which has been approved by the syndicate body is to install a total of 964 kilowatts across the university campus. Of this, we have already installed 312 kilowatts while we are in the process of installing solar panel for another 652 kilowatts at other faculties of the campus,” said MSU engineer N K Ojha.

As indicated by Ojha, the college will have the capacity to spare at any rate Rs 1.40 crore per annum through the venture once it gets actualized.

As per authorities, with every kilowatt introduced limit around five units power can be created in a solitary day which thus brings about the age of 1.44 lakh units for every month.

Considering Rs six as the cost for each unit, the college will have the capacity to spare Rs 8.67 lakh for every month and a sum of Rs 1.40 crore for every year. As far as units, the college authorities recommend that with 964 kilowatts, 17.35 lakh units of power can be produced every year.

Notably, the university is adamant on not spending a single penny on the project. “GEDA is implementing the project while we are providing our terraces. As per the requirement, we need flat roof surfaces and terraces where there is direct sunlight without any obstruction of trees,” said Ojha.

“If the electricity consumption is less than the electricity generated through the project, we will not have to pay anything. If our consumption is more than the power generated through the project, we will have to pay for the balance units consumed at the campus,”
