Gujarat: NGEL Issues 600MW Solar Module Supply Tender For Bhuj NGEL

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has invited bids on behalf of IndianOil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited (INGEL) for the supply of solar modules for the 600 MW INGEL solar project in Gujarat. The project will use bifacial solar modules and includes a 750 MWp (375 MWp x 2 blocks) capacity. The deadline for submission of bids is June 23, 2025.

The NGEL tender in its scope of work includes the manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, and transportation of crystalline bifacial solar PV modules with a minimum nominal rating of 570 Wp, from the open category and listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar PV modules. The modules will be used for the Bhuj, Gujarat project.

Eligibility Criteria

Under the technical criteria, the NGEL tender expects the bidders to have supplied solar photovoltaic (SPV) modules or cells with a cumulative capacity of at least 40 MWp, including at least one order of 10 MWp or more, before the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

According to the financial criteria set by the tender, the bidders must have an average annual turnover of at least Rs 90 crore for one block of 378.75 MWp and Rs 180 crore for two blocks of 757.5 MWp during any three financial years as of the techno-commercial bid opening date.

NTPC Adds 3312 MW Renewable Project

NTPC Ltd., India’s largest power generator, in its audited financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year FY25, showcased robust growth across key metrics. It added 3,972 MW of capacity in the last financial year, of which 3,312 MW came from renewable sources, according to its latest financial results.

The company is currently developing a pumped storage project (PSP) pipeline of over 20 GW, with the first gigawatt expected to be operational in FY26. NTPC has also outlined plans to develop an additional 30 GW of nuclear power capacity. The group remains committed to its long-term target of 60 GW of renewable energy by 2032. In FY25, NTPC also reported a fourfold increase in biomass co-firing, reaching 700,000 tonnes, as part of its efforts to promote cleaner fuels and reduce emissions.
