Green Stocks Oct 17: SWREL Sole Stock In Green

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy was the solar stock to end the day's trading in the green, as our green energy pack buckled along with the broader indices. Premier energies was to suffer the most with a 4% plus fall, even as the others suffered relatively lower losses. The Premier energies case is interesting, coming at a time when the country's largest module maker, Waaree Energies is set to hit the markets with a fresh issue and offer for sale next week. However, even at current valuations for Premier energies, Waaree's long awaited IPO should sail through.

For the rest of the pack, between large order wins and new records in terms of tenders, the focus is now going to shift squarely towards tracking execution, as the market evaluates which firms can deliver. While not much can go wrong between now and Q2 of FY26 with the brimming order books, the fact remains that the market will learn by then to sort out the good from the not so good. Expect brutal revaluations when that happens.
