A late recovery focused mostly on large caps was enough to pull enough of our green pack out of the doldrums today. Alpex Solar stood out with an over 10% jump today, even as Adani Green also renewed its slow recovery from recent lows. With the week ending today, the weekend will be offering a lot of food for thought for investors, as some more results pour in throiugh Saturday to build a picture for the next few quarters as far as the green energy sector goes.
Commentary from solar cell manufacturers like Websol Energy has been interesting, in how they expect margins to be protected by a combination of longer lead times for cell manufacturing foir at least the next two years. We belkieve focus now will shift also towards developers who are faster to commission energy storage projects, one reason why Adani Green seems to have most bases covered. EPC firms will also be in the spotlight soon in our view, as the quarter moves to the mid-point stage, with most firms doing quite well on project executions. As announbcements pour in for project comissionings, as we have seen in the past few weeks, the mood couyld change distinctly.
A hotter summer has been duly predicted, which will drive up power demand, especially in the afternoon when solar oversuppkly will remain a problem for some time. All in all, the markets head into the weekend with key events finally behind, from the US trade deal to the benign RBI stance on interest rates. We believe the situation is being set up nicely for a small, sustained upmove, short of any fresh geopolitical surprises.
