Govt Alert! Fake Message on Social Media for Free Distribution of Solar Panels to All

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued a public notice and informed that, “It has been brought to the notice of the Ministry that a fake message is being circulated on social media platform whatsapp.”

The government has issued a cautionary advice for the general public on the fake message circulated on social media platform whatsapp about the distribution of free solar panels to all by the government.

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued a public notice and informed that, “It has been brought to the notice of the Ministry that a fake message is being circulated on social media platform whatsapp.”

MNRE further added that, “This message claims that the Govt. of India is distributing free solar panels to all, and asks the user to click on a link for registration Link:- http://free-solarpanel.registrationsnow.com.”

On this link, the user is tricked into sharing his personal data and then he is asked to share this link with 10 more person, the Ministry added.

The government informed general public to remain cautious about such fraudulent messages and said, “This looks like an attempt by unscrupulous elements to collect use data fraudulently.”

“General public is hereby informed that the claimed website:-Link:-http://free-solarpanel.registrationsnow.com has no link with the Ministry New and Renewable Energy,” it added.

Therefore, public is hereby requested not to fall pray to such fake link, the Ministry said.
