Solar sector firm, Gensol Engineering Limited has announced the appointment of Kapil K Nirmal as the new CEO of its Middle East Solar EPC business.

“With an extensive 18-year background in business development and project implementation across major organisations in the Middle East, including Emirates Electrical Engineering LLC and Al Rostamani Group, Mr. Nirmal is set to lead Gensol’s expansion in the region. He brings a wealth of experience, having been instrumental in the development and engineering of over 5 GW of Solar PV projects worldwide,” according to a media statement by Gensol Engineering.

Anmol Singh Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s growth trajectory, highlighting the trust and initial successes in the UAE as foundations for future expansion. Mr. Nirmal, celebrating his new role, emphasised his commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and contributing to Gensol’s vision of creating sustainable energy footprints in the Middle East. A University of Cambridge and IIM Calcutta alumnus, Mr. Nirmal has also specialised in Business and Climate Change and holds a certification as an Emerging Sustainable Technology Expert from The European Energy Center.

In other news, Gensol Engineering Limited, an Indian solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services and electric mobility company, has secured one of the largest-ever turnkey EPC orders in size and value from a leading power generation utility in the state of Maharashtra, the firm said today. The project involves developing a 100 MWAC/135 MWp ground-mount solar PV power project across 500 acres in Maharashtra, with a total order value of Rs 520 Crore. This achievement underscores Gensol’s position in the renewable energy sector. 

Gensol Engineering also started a 10.6 MW rooftop solar project for Trident Group’s Budhni Textile Unit in Madhya Pradesh. According to press release by the company, the project utilises nearly 20,000 545W Longi Hi-MO 5 Bifacial Dual Glass LR5-72HBD modules and is expected to produce approximately 15,000 Mh annually.
