GameChange Solar To Supply Trackers For ACWA Power’s Khulis Solar Project

GameChange Solar said it has been selected to supply its Genius Tracker™ 1P system for the Khulis solar photovoltaic independent power plant in Saudi Arabia, being developed by ACWA Power.

The project is being executed by a joint venture comprising China Energy Engineering Corp (CEEC), Guangdong Power Engineering Co (GPEC) and Northwest Electric Power Design Institute (NWEPDI) as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.

The Khulis project will deploy GameChange Solar’s single-axis Genius Tracker™ 1P platform, incorporating SmartStow™, PowerBoost™ and WeatherSmart™ technologies. The company said these features are designed to enhance performance and reliability under Saudi Arabia’s challenging climatic conditions, including high wind speeds, extreme heat and variable wind patterns.

GameChange Solar said it was selected based on its global track record, quality assurance capabilities and lower lifetime operating costs associated with its tracker systems.

Saudi's Energy Transition 

“Saudi Arabia is playing a leading role in the Middle East’s clean energy transition, and we are pleased to work with ACWA Power and CEEC on this project,” said Vikas Bansal, President and Chief Executive Officer – International, GameChange Solar, in a statement. He added that the company’s collaboration with CEEC in the Middle East now represents nearly 3 gigawatts of combined capacity.

Construction of the Khulis solar project is scheduled to begin in December 2025, with commissioning planned for November 2027.

GameChange Solar supplies solar tracking and fixed-tilt racking systems for utility-scale and distributed solar projects globally and has delivered more than 53 gigawatts of systems to date.
