GameChange Energy Acquires Terrasmart’s eBOS Unit To Expand Utility-Scale Solar Offering

GameChange Energy Technologies said it has acquired the electrical balance of systems (eBOS) division of Terrasmart, a subsidiary of Gibraltar Industries, in a move aimed at strengthening its ability to deliver integrated infrastructure for utility-scale solar projects. 

The company said the acquisition adds pre-engineered and prefabricated electrical solutions that manage connections between solar modules, inverters and downstream grid equipment, expanding its module-to-grid platform.

The eBOS business has deployed more than 14 gigawatts of solutions and operates a manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It will be integrated into GameChange Energy’s platform alongside its existing tracker, racking, transformer and grid-equipment businesses.

Same Teams & Facilities 

Customers will continue working with the same teams and facilities, the company said, adding that the transaction will also provide access to broader engineering and operational resources.

GameChange said the deal reflects shifts in the utility-scale solar market, including increasing project complexity, longer interconnection timelines and rising demand for integrated electrical solutions that help accelerate project commissioning. 

Driving Demand

Chief Executive Phillip Vyhanek said larger projects and tighter timelines are driving demand for partners capable of supporting the full electrical pathway from module to grid interconnection.

“Terrasmart’s eBOS team has built a strong reputation for quality, delivery and engineering discipline,” Chief Financial Officer Mark Gibbens said, adding the acquisition would help the company support increasingly complex projects.

Separately, DEPCOM Power senior vice president of supply chain Natasha Chernenkova said the company welcomed GameChange’s expansion into eBOS design and manufacturing, citing a longstanding relationship deploying its tracker and fixed-tilt systems.
