Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav urged farmers to take advantage of the KUSUM-C scheme to install solar pumps and achieve energy self-reliance. In a public message, Yadav said the state government plans to organise fairs across districts in the next eight days to promote modern agricultural practices for farmers’ welfare.

The Chief Minister informed that assistance is being provided to farmers for installing solar pumps to operate agricultural equipment. Registrations for booking solar pumps require only 10% of the pump’s cost. Registrations have begun for solar pumps up to 3 horsepower in capacity. For pumps costing up to ₹5 lakh, farmers need to pay just ₹50,000, with the government guaranteeing the remaining ₹4.5 lakh.

Increasing Farmers’ Incomes

The minister said, “Aimed at increasing farmers’ incomes, these fairs will highlight improved techniques, quality seeds, the latest equipment, and other resources, alongside information about government schemes for better management of agriculture and horticulture.”

CM Yadav emphasized that farming today is impossible without electricity, and the state government is moving to make farmers self-reliant in energy production. Under the KUSUM-C scheme. He said, the government will ensure widespread implementation so that farmers can generate their own electricity. Farmers are already receiving substantial assistance through electricity subsidies, which is a major support initiative by the government.

CM Yadav stated that the government aims to register around one lakh farmers under this scheme. He said, “Priority will be given to those who had registered earlier, followed by newly registered farmers. He asserted that through this initiative, farmers will achieve energy self-sufficiency and open new doors to prosperity. The state government remains fully committed to the welfare and progress of farmers.”
