Exeliq Launches 120 kW Grid-Tied Inverter Test System to Strengthen Domestic Solar Testing Photograph: (Exeliq)
Exeliq Tech Solutions has introduced the GridX-120, a 120 kW grid-tied inverter (GTI) test system designed to support the growing demand for standards-compliant testing infrastructure in India’s expanding solar inverter market. The company said the platform is among the few high-capacity inverter testing systems currently available in North India, improving regional access to advanced validation capabilities.
The GridX-120 is an automated test platform capable of validating solar inverters up to 120 kW by integrating functional, safety, and ageing (burn-in) tests within a single setup. The system enables verification of key parameters including MPPT performance, power quality, grid synchronisation, insulation resistance, high-voltage safety, ground continuity, and long-duration reliability testing.
Key features of the GridX-120 include:
DC source up to 1000 V and 300 A per string
Integrated high-voltage, insulation resistance and earth bond safety tests
AC grid simulator up to 120 kVA with voltage and frequency variation
Regenerative AC/DC sources designed to reduce energy consumption during testing
Designed for inverter manufacturers, R&D centres and certification laboratories, the system incorporates a regenerative AC grid simulator and load bank that feeds energy back to the grid during testing, lowering overall power consumption. Automated test sequencing, data logging and report generation are intended to ensure consistency and traceability in line with IEC and Indian standards.
Kumar Ashu, Co-Founder of Exeliq Tech Solutions, said that as India scales renewable capacity, grid-tied inverters are becoming central to stable solar integration. He added that indigenously developed testing infrastructure plays a key role in reducing import dependence, strengthening domestic manufacturing and enabling Indian companies to compete globally.
The company noted that the system’s modular architecture allows customisation for manufacturing quality assurance, pre-compliance testing and advanced R&D applications, reflecting evolving requirements across India’s renewable energy and power electronics ecosystem.
Exeliq Tech Solutions develops testing solutions using National Instruments hardware and software platforms, including LabVIEW and advanced data acquisition modules, to deliver scalable testing systems for industrial applications.
