Each project will provide 50 MW / 100 MWh of grid capacity, supporting critical flexibility in areas with network constraints and advancing the United Kingdom’s transition to renewable energy.

Construction at Holmston, located in South Ayrshire, began earlier this summer, while work at Drum Farm near Keith is expected to start in early autumn. Both projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

“Scotland is a key market for Envision Energy, and our collaboration with Field demonstrates trust in our technical capabilities and proven battery storage solutions,” said Henry Peng, Senior Vice President and President for Latin America and Europe at Envision Energy. “These projects reinforce our commitment to grid stability and accelerating the shift to renewables, backed by a 15-year long-term service agreement.”

Field CEO Amit Gudka said breaking ground at Holmston and soon at Drum Farm marked a major milestone for the company. “Battery storage is essential to building a cleaner and more secure energy system. We’re pleased to partner with Envision to deliver advanced solutions that support grid resilience and the growth of renewables,” he said.

Energy storage is expanding rapidly across Europe and the UK, underpinning efforts to decarbonise power systems. Envision said its battery technology supports key functions including grid-forming, black start capabilities, and ancillary services, all vital for a flexible and reliable net-zero energy future.
