Energy Storage India 2019 to drive India’s National Energy Storage Mission

Ahead of ESI 2019, there is tech tour planned on 8th Jan ’19 at Tata Power- DDL’s smart grid lab and at National Institute of Solar Energy.

Taking strides in the field of renewable energy, India is leading the way in decarbonizing the atmosphere. But as renewable capacity takes a lead, so should storage technology.

Keeping this in mind, National Energy Storage Mission, Energy Storage India (ESI) 2019 is scheduled from January 10 – 11, 2019 along with Pre – Conference Workshops on January 09, 2019 at The Ashok, New Delhi. Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Industry and Commerce will be the key note speaker at Make in India session.

Ahead of ESI 2019, there is tech tour planned on 8th Jan ’19 at Tata Power- DDL’s smart grid lab and at National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE). During the visit Tata Power will provide an overview of AES- Mitsubishi- Fluence 10 MW energy storage project (under construction) at Delhi.

NISE has the only facility of its kind in India that utilizes solar energy for hydrogen production.

ESI will also host the 3rd IESA Industry Excellence Awards recognizing the best in Energy storage, Electric Vehicle and Micro Grid industry. IESA members will get a chance to be part of B2B meetings and access to the deal room so as to explore newer partnership avenues.

Three parallel energy storage workshops will allow delegates to get hands on experience on various technicalities and will provide in-depth understanding of advanced technologies and solutions.

Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Founder & Executive Director, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) said, “During 2018, IESA was successful in shaping the vision of making India a Global Hub for R&D manufacturing of advanced energy storage and EVs.”

He further mentioned that, “During ESI 2019, we are looking forward to forging stronger relationships with various stake holders for addressing the growing needs of India’s electric grid and electric transportation sector.”
