Germany based leading electric utility service provider, E.ON has launched a rewarding tariff for the electric vehicle (EV) owners.

The consumers have to sign up with the company to avail the offer of a fixed unit price for which they will have to undertake free driving miles per year.

Further, the ‘Fix and Drive’ tariff will allow the consumers to avail a GBP 30 cash back reward annually.

Available now to UK drivers who own or lease a plug-in electric or hybrid vehicle registered with the DVLA, electricity from the tariff is certified as 100 per cent renewable through Ofgem’s Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) scheme, E.ON said.

Chief Executive, E.ON UK ,,Michael Lewis said, “The decision came in response to rapidly increasing sales of EVs in the UK, which is now one of Europe’s largest markets for electric cars. Drivers need to be able to charge their cars quickly and conveniently, and for many, that means plugging in at home. Our new Fix and Drive tariff has been specifically designed with these customers in mind, who likely have higher electricity bills, to provide competitive pricing, a rebate and clean energy to supply their homes and power their vehicles.”

The dual-fuel tariff will additionally see CO2 associated with customers’ gas use offset through Carbon Emission Reduction credits issued by the UN.

The move will act as a support to the country’s bid to enhance the use of renewable energy.
