Dwijadas Basak Takes the Helm as Tata Power-DDL CEO

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), a power utility serving approximately 9 million people in North Delhi, has appointed Dwijadas Basak as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, effective June 9, 2025.

Commenting on his appointment, Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, of Tata Power Company Limited said, “I welcome Dwijadas Basak as the new CEO of Tata Power-DDL. He brings with him deep domain expertise and a stellar track record in the power distribution sector. From Odisha To Delhi

Prior to joining Tata Power-DDL, Basak was the Chief Executive Officer of TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) & Chief – Odisha Distribution Business. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL), where he played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence.

Basak brings over three decades of experience in power distribution management. A seasoned electrical engineer, he has held various leadership positions within the Tata Power Group. Before moving to Odisha, he was Chief-Customer Experience, Commercial, Govt. Affairs, Communication, and Social Impact Group at Tata Power-DDL. From 1991 to 2002, Basak worked in the power distribution sector in India and Brazil. Since 2003, Basak has been part of the Tata Power Group in various capacities and has played a pivotal role in the transformation journey of the power distribution business at Tata Power-DDL.
