DVC Tenders 30 MW Floating Solar Project Across Jharkhand & West Bengal

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has issued a tender to set up a 30 MW grid-connected floating solar PV (FSPV) plant on the raw water reservoirs of its thermal power plants.

These thermal plants are located at Koderma in Jharkhand and at Mejia, along with a floating solar plant at Raghunathpur in West Bengal. DVC has invited bids for this project until September 4, 2025.

DVC tender covers the development of a 6 MW (AC) solar plant with a minimum 7.8 MWp DC capacity at the Koderma Thermal Power Station (KTPS), a 14 MW (AC) plant with 18.2 MWp DC capacity at the Mejia Thermal Power Station (MTPS), and a 10 MW (AC) plant with 13 MWp DC capacity at the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station (RTPS). The PV plants will have a design life of 25 years and an O&M period of 25 years.

Brief Scope of Works

DVC explained that the bidders for this project are required to undertake other work under the tender's scope of work, which includes design and EPC activities such as supplying equipment and materials, testing at manufacturers’ works, and multi-level inspections.

The tender explained that the bidder of this floating solar photovoltaic power plant would also be responsible for performance demonstration with associated equipment and materials on a turnkey basis at Koderma Thermal Power Plant (Jharkhand), Mejia Thermal Power Station (West Bengal), and Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station (West Bengal). It also includes 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance from the date of operational acceptance.
