Global solar inverter manufacturer Deye has introduced its latest high-voltage hybrid inverter, designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, with capacities ranging from 29.9kW to 80kW. The system supports Deye’s high-voltage battery solutions operating between 160V and 1000V.

The lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) batteries used are based on non-flammable, non-explosive technology, offering up to 6,000 cycles at recommended C-rates. Battery safety and efficiency are ensured through a Battery Management Unit (BMU) integrated with protective features against over/under-voltage, overcurrent, and temperature extremes.

Advanced Features for Energy Management

The inverter supports “Time of Use” settings, enabling users to schedule battery charging and discharging based on tariff structures. Batteries can be charged via grid or diesel generators.

Deye’s inverters also come equipped with a Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) function, allowing seamless integration with existing diesel generators. The inverter can automatically trigger the generator to supply loads or recharge batteries during low solar output or battery state-of-charge (SoC).

Zero Export and Grid Control Capabilities

To comply with grid regulations, Deye hybrid inverters feature an inbuilt zero-export function. Users can configure the system for:

  • Zero Export to Load: The inverter powers only backup loads without exporting to the home or grid.

  • Zero Export to CT: Powers both backup and home loads while ensuring no feed-in to the grid.

A "Solar Sell" mode enables export of surplus solar energy under zero export conditions. The inverter also includes a Grid Peak Shaving feature to limit grid imports, using solar or battery power to manage high loads.

Retrofit & Load Management Options

The inverter allows AC coupling, making it possible to retrofit existing on-grid solar plants using the diesel generator port. Energy from the hybrid system can power loads or be exported if needed.

Deye also introduces Smart Load capabilities, enabling automatic operation of inductive or heavy loads when battery SoC reaches full capacity. These loads are connected via the diesel generator port, available across all inverter variants.

Customisable Energy Priority Modes

Users can configure the energy flow based on operational priorities:

  • Battery First: Prioritises charging the battery from solar, then powers the load. Grid power supplements in case of low generation.

  • Load First: Prioritises powering the load from solar, with excess charging the battery. Grid power supports when needed.

The system also offers a Selling First option, allowing solar or stored battery energy to be sold back to the grid. Users can predefine Max Sell Power and configure an Energy Pattern suited to site-specific needs.

Deye aims to strengthen its presence in India’s growing C&I hybrid and energy storage market with this new range, targeting users seeking efficient load management and peak shaving solutions.
