Department of Defence Tenders for 950 kW Rooftop Solar Plants

The Ordnance Factory Ambajhari, Department of Defence has issued a tender for the development of 950 kW of rooftop solar plants in two packages of 475 kW each.

The Ordnance Factory Ambajhari in Nagpur, on behalf of the Department of Defence, has issued a tender, inviting bids for the development of 950 kW of rooftop solar power plants in two packages of 475 kW each.

The selected bidders will be required to complete the work on the project on a turnkey basis. The successful bidder shall be responsible for designing, procurement, installation and commissioning of the project in accordance with the latest IEC/ Indian Standards. It shall also be in the scope of the developer for obtaining all the required approvals and permissions from other agencies including MSEDCL, MEDA, SECI, if any are required for the installation and commissioning of the plant.

The selected developers will have a period of 24 weeks from the date of issuance of the letter of award to complete the work on the project.

The last date for bid submission is December 16, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. All bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 9.12 lakh along with their bids.

The solar power plant shall be installed on the roofs of 2 newly constructed buildings BN1, BN2 inside OFAJ Factory area in Nagpur. The operating life of the plant shall be 25 years and the successful bidders will have to provide maintenance services for the two rooftop systems for a period of 5 years from the date of successful commissioning.

As per the tender provisions, all the components and parts used in the solar power plants including the PV modules, metallic structures, cables, junction boxes, switches, PCUs, etc., should conform to the BIS or IEC or international specifications, wherever such specifications are available and applicable.

In September, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, had issued a tender for the installation fo a 130 kW RCC rooftop solar PV power plant at it’s Metal and Steel Factory (MSF) Ishapore, Kolkata.
