The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible bidders, for the commissioning of a 2 MW rooftop solar PV power project under RESCO model at the staff quarters and other RCC buildings of DMRC in Delhi.

The solar power generated from the rooftop system will be fed to the grid, on a net metering basis. The scheme aims to reduce the fossil fuel based electricity load on the main grid and make the building self-sustainable from the point of electricity to the extent possible.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, engineering, supply, storage, civil work, erection of suitable raised structure, testing and commissioning of the 2 MWp rooftop solar PV project. The developers will also be responsible for providing comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services for the rooftop solar projects for a period of 25 years.

The estimated cost of the 2 MW project is Rs 7.2 crore and the selected developers will have a period of 12 months – from the date of issuance of the allocation letter – to complete the work on the project.

The last date for bid submission is February 23, 2021, and the technical bids will be opened on February 24, 2021. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for February 9, 2021, to address the concerns raised by the prospective bidders.
