Crompton Enters Large Rooftop Solar Market With ₹52 Cr Order
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (Crompton), a consumer electrical company, secured its first major solar rooftop order in the Telangana market worth ₹52 Cr.
In a press release sharing these details, the company said Crompton is well-positioned to leverage the large and growing solar rooftop market of ₹20,000–₹25,000 Cr, expected to grow at a fast pace of 20%+.
It explained that Crompton’s latest win marks its strong commercial debut in the large solar rooftop category. The latest order also highlights the company’s goal to drive growth in energy solutions through a strong distribution network with the capability to scale.
Earlier in the quarter, the company secured its largest-ever single order in solar pumps, worth from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency. Talking about pumps, the company said the solar pumps segment is seeing very strong momentum. Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd, said, "Our business has doubled compared to the same period last year. We’ve successfully executed our orders and significantly grown our order pipeline, beyond the publicly disclosed Rs. 101 Cr order, which is the biggest we’ve ever received. While both agri and residential pumps were affected by unseasonal rains, we believe we are still performing well in these segments compared to the industry."
Crompton Expands Solar Pumps & Rooftop Segment
Crompton’s entry into rooftop solar aligns with its broader strategy to significantly expand its Total Addressable Market (TAM) from ₹75,000–1 Lakh Cr to ₹2 Lakh Cr. The combined solar pumps and solar rooftops segment represents a large opportunity of ₹40,000–₹50,000 Cr.
