Cosmic PV Power Wins 30 MW Solar Module Order From Rajasthan IPP Photograph: (Archive)
Gujarat based solar module manufacturer Cosmic PV Power Limited said it has received an order worth about 390 million rupees ($4.7 million) to supply 30 megawatts of M10R 595-watt peak solar photovoltaic modules to a Jaipur-based independent power producer.
The company said production and supply of the modules would be completed within the current financial year. This is Cosmic’s third consecutive order from independent power producers or large engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms, underscoring growing traction among utility-scale developers.
Expanding Footprint
Cosmic PV Power, headquartered in Surat, has rapidly expanded its manufacturing footprint over the past three years. The company currently operates around 3 gigawatts of solar module manufacturing capacity and has outlined plans to scale this up to about 5 GW as demand for domestically manufactured modules rises under India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) regime. The firm has stood out for its focus on contract manufacturing, reducing selling risk by making modules on contract for other large players.
The company is also pursuing backward integration and has announced plans to set up a large-scale solar cell manufacturing facility. Cosmic has secured land in Madhya Pradesh for a proposed 4 GW solar cell plant, aimed at reducing reliance on imported cells and strengthening its position in India’s solar supply chain.
From Solar To Storage
In addition to manufacturing expansion, Cosmic has publicly indicated plans to tap capital markets, targeting an initial public offering in 2026 to fund capacity additions and new business verticals. The company has also signalled its intent to enter the battery energy storage systems (BESS) segment, with plans for a lithium-ion battery manufacturing line to cater to grid-scale storage projects.
India’s solar manufacturing sector has seen a surge in expansion announcements as developers and manufacturers position themselves to meet rising renewable energy targets and stricter domestic sourcing norms.
