Coal India has issued a tender to develop an 875 MW ground-mounted solar plant at RVUNL’s 2 GW solar park in Pugal, Bikaner, located in Rajasthan.
The plant would be connected to a 33kV/400 kV Park Pooling Substation, and the deadline for bid submissions is August 12, 2025.
The tender mandates the use of solar photovoltaic power generation that would allow the direct conversion of solar radiation into electricity using semiconductor devices, “solar cells,” which work on the principles of the photoelectric effect.
The bidder is required to undertake the detailed design of the grid-interactive solar PV plant and other EPC activities. Additionally, the tender expects the bidder to carry out the topographical survey and prepare plans (survey maps) and a report of the entire area for locating the solar PV power plant and its other systems.
Coal India Expands Solar Push With Multiple Project Awards
Last year, Coal India Limited (CIL) awarded KPI Green Energy a contract to set up a 300 MWAC grid-connected ground-mounted solar PV plant at the GIPCL Solar Park in Khavda, Gujarat. CIL had secured this project through a tender issued by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL).
In May this year, Alpex Solar won a ₹349.99 crore consortium order from Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Ltd. (CMPDI), a CIL subsidiary. The order involves procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of a ground-mounted solar power plant at Nandan Washery, Kanhan Area, operated by Western Coalfields Ltd. (WCL).
