China’s LONGi Inks Deal With Spain’s Naturgy To Supply 1 Million Solar Modules

China-based solar technology firm LONGi and Spain-based energy utility firm Naturgy have signed a new module shipment agreement for Naturgy’s 2024 solar projects in Spain. As part of the agreement, LONGi will deliver just over one million modules from its Hi-MO 5 series, with a total output volume of 574 MWp.

These bifacial modules will have 21.3 percent efficiency rate, along with LONGi’s gallium-doped technology, which is designed to reduce light-induced degradation and extend the modules’ power generation long-term, particularly important in the high heat and solar irradiance of Spain, read the press statement by LONGi.

The Spanish multinational Naturgy plans to install the modules at upcoming projects in four project locations across the country, in the regions of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Andalusia, stated the media statement. Furthermore, all these projects are expected to receive module by this year. Present in more than 20 countries, with more than 16 GW of installed capacity, Naturgy supplies gas and electricity to 16 million customers.

LONGi’s solar technology also offers us an exceptionally efficient and durable performance,. This is a key factor in building out Spanish photovoltaics and competing with traditional power sources.”

David Sánchez Escarti, LONGi´s General Manager Spain & Portugal added, “We are very honoured of our long-term partnership with Naturgy that was started in 2018. With Naturgy’s extraordinary renewables track record, we’re proud to be expanding our cooperation and supporting these major new projects.
