CEL Issues EoI For Empanelment of EPC Contractors For Executing BESS Projects in India

Battery Energy Storage System

The Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) for empanelment of firms/ EPC contractors for executing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in India.

The purpose of the EoI is to invite firms/ EPC contractors who have experience/capability in design, testing, integrating, installation and commissioning of BESS on turnkey basis using various battery technology/chemistry.

To be eligible,

1. The firm/EPC contractor should be an existing manufacturer/supplier/integrator of Battery Energy Storage System.

2. They should have executed minimum 250kWh of Battery Energy Storage System and shall have integrated it with 11kV or above grid network.

3. And should have executed Battery Energy Storage System using battery technology/chemistry with minimum 2500 cycles.

4. Finally, they should have a cumulative minimum annual turnover of Rs 2.5 crore for the last three financial years.

The successful participant against this EoI would be issued an empanelment letter. And, for any future tenders related to Battery Energy Storage System floated in India, CEL shall float the tender for pre-bid tie-up amongst the empanelled firms/ EPC contractors. The empanelled contractors should then provide their best quotation to CEL for participating in the said tender.

The last date for submission of responses for the EoI is July 31, 2019.

Based on the best quotations received from the Firms/ EPC Contractors, CEL would decide the successful bidder amongst the various best quotations received and shall sign the pre-bid tie-up agreement with the successful bidder.

Recently, CEL issued a tender inviting online bids from eligible parties for the deployment of 300 kWp grid-connected solar PV power plant at its campus in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The brief scope of work for selected bidder(s) will include the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and providing warranty for a period of 5 years for the 300 kWp solar power system. And the work on the project should be completed in a period of 3 months from the issue of the work order.
