Ceigall Enters Renewable Energy Space, Gets LoIs To Procure 337 MW from MSEDCL Solar Power
Ceigall India Limited, an infrastructure engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, recently forayed into the renewable energy space. In a press release, the company explained that it entered the renewable energy space after it secured two Letters of Intent (LOIs) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Limited (MSEDCL) for the procurement of solar power.
Ceigall India secured a 337 MW solar power order through a tariff-based competitive bid under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0. The project entails setting up grid-connected solar power projects at multiple locations across Maharashtra.
Companies Entering RE Space
On this latest development, Ceigall India commented that its foray into renewables underscores the company's diversification plans into high-growth sectors and strengthens its portfolio. Ceigall is not alone — other Indian companies are also diversifying into renewables. For instance, BC Jindal Group, a metallized films manufacturer and supplier, entered into component manufacturing for renewable energy power generation. In the first phase of the project, the group aims to invest Rs 4,000 crore to kickstart its renewable energy component manufacturing venture.
Hariom Pipe Industries Limited (HPIL), an integrated steel product manufacturer, has also entered the renewable energy sector, securing an LoA from MSEDCL to develop 60 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic power generating stations. This project falls under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, which aims to implement feeder-level solarization under Component C of the PM-KUSUM Scheme.
Leadership View
On the latest LoA secured by Ceigall India, the company mentioned, "By entering the green energy domain, the company is well-positioned to capture emerging opportunities, enhance long-term value creation, and reinforce its commitment to driving sustainable infrastructure growth in line with India’s energy transition goals."
Commenting on the development, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ceigall India Limited, said, “Securing Letters of Intent for solar power procurement in Maharashtra marks Ceigall’s foray into the renewable energy sector — a space that will define the future of infrastructure and sustainable development in the country."
He further explained, "This milestone is just the beginning — we envision Ceigall playing a leading role in India’s energy transition and creating long-term value for all stakeholders.”
