Cabinet Okays India, France MoU on Renewable Energy

As per the MoU signed, both the countries aim to identify research/ demonstration/ pilot project between National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), India and CEA, France in the mutually identified areas.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided its consent on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and France on renewable energy cooperation in the month of March this year.

As per the MoU signed, both the countries aim to identify research/ demonstration/ pilot project between National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), India and Commissariat aI’EnergieAtomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA), France in the mutually identified areas.

Further, based on the mutual agreement, the two countries would work for implementation & deployment of pilot project in the International Solar Alliance (ISA) member countries.

Moreover, collaboration may occur through several means, including joint research projects, joint R&D, joint workshops, research and technology exchange including exchange of domain experts.

Meanwhile, the MoU also aims for exchange of expertise and networking of information and will help in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
