BYD India, the subsidiary of BYD, the global major of New Energy Vehicle (NEV), has delivered its 10,000th electric vehicle in the country. The milestone delivery was celebrated at an event in New Delhi.
The company currently operates 44 dealership outlets across key Indian cities. The company identifies its strategic partnership with Relux Electric for hassle-free charging solutions, a crucial contributor to its EV business in India.
This addresses one of the key concerns for EV owners and further enriches the overall EV ecosystem, the official statement notes.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, said, “Reaching the 10,000-customer milestone in India is a proud achievement that reflects the growing trust and enthusiasm for BYD’s vision of cleaner, greener mobility.”
Chauhan insists that referrals from existing customers have also contributed to the BYD’s growth in India.
Global Leadership and Innovation
Globally, BYD has sold over 13 million NEVs, contributing to a massive reduction of more than 106 billion kilograms of carbon emissions, equivalent to the CO2 absorption of nearly 1.77 billion trees, as of July 2025.
The company’s strong market presence is recognised in its ranking among the Top 10 Most Valuable Global Automotive Brands by Kantar BrandZ for three consecutive years. In 2024, BYD achieved a brand valuation of USD 14.4 billion with a 43.6 percent year-on-year growth.
BYD recently inaugurated the world’s first all-terrain driving circuit in Zhengzhou, China. This facility integrates asphalt tracks, wet skating surfaces, cross-country mountain slopes, sandy terrains, and snow and ice scenarios, offering a comprehensive driving experience designed to test and showcase the capabilities of BYD’s electric vehicles.
Expanding the Indian EV Portfolio
BYD India’s product lineup includes the BYD SEALION 7, BYD ATTO 3 eSUV, BYD eMAX 7 eMPV, and BYD SEAL.
The company operates two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in India, spanning over 140,000 square meters and supported by investments exceeding USD 200 million, the company said.
