Bihar Issues EPC Tender For Solar+BESS Project For Kajra

The Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) has floated an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender for the development of a 116 MW (AC) solar power project in Lakshisarai, Kajra district. The project will also include a 50.5 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The deadline for submission of bids is April 10.

The selected bidder will be responsible not only for construction but also for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the project for 10 years.

“For, KAJRA Site, AC capacity of solar power project shall be 116 MW (AC) installation for Solar PV Project with cumulative maximum DC installation capacity under Standard Test Conditions (STC) as per IEC 61215 and IEC:61730 along with BESS of Minimum 241 MWh Capacity capable to deliver maximum power of 50.5 MW for 4 Hours,” the tender said.

The document reiterated the BESS specifications, emphasizing the expected output and duration capabilities of the system.

“For, KAJRA Site, AC capacity of solar power project shall be 116 MW (AC) installation for Solar PV Project with cumulative maximum DC installation capacity under Standard Test Conditions (STC) as per IEC 61215 and IEC:61730 along with BESS of Minimum 241 MWh Capacity capable to deliver maximum power of 50.5 MW for 4 Hours.”

Regarding long-term maintenance, the contractor will be obligated to manage comprehensive O&M services, including supply of spare parts, consumables, and repair or replacement of faulty equipment for a decade.

“Ten (10) years comprehensive O & M is compulsory and other five years may be extendable for further period on mutually agreeable basis,” it added.

The tender permits the use of high-efficiency solar modules, including mono-PERC and TOPCon-based bifacial modules.

“The PV modules to be employed shall be of minimum 72 cell configuration with rated power of module ≥580 Wp as certified for solar PV module power performance test as prescribed by latest edition of IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 and as tested by IEC / MNRE recognized test laboratory. The maximum tolerance in the rated power of solar PV module shall have maximum tolerance up to +3%. No negative tolerance in the rated capacity of solar PV module is allowed,” the tender said.
