BHEL Haridwar Issues Tender for 5 MW Solar Project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has issued a tender notification seeking developers for its 5MW solar project at Ranipur facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The project will be developed under BOOM mode comprising design and construction responsibilities of design-build procurements with operations and maintenance of the project. The bids will have to be submitted by February 6, 2024. The tender will only to submitted electronically by logging into the BHEL e-Procurement portal.

As per the tender, the bidder will get into a purchase agreement of 25 years and must have an earnest money of Rs 30,00,000. Further, the requirements mentioned in the tender specify that the bidding party should be a company and must have experience in at least a 2.5 MW on-ground solar plant and 1MW of individual solar plant as far as technical parameters are concerned. The party should have an experience of seven years in operating and maintaining such solar projects.

The declared annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) must meet specified criteria each year. As far as surplus power produced is concerned, then that will be sold to BHEL on the basis of requirement. But, if there will be no requirement, then the party will have to shut the plant accordingly, told a senior manager at BHEL Haridwar. The bidders willing to take part in the bidding process should have a net worth equal to or more than Rs 5.14 crores.

The company offers EPC solutions for both grid-interactive and off-grid, ground-mounted, rooftop, floating, and canal-top solar plants. In addition, BHEL also manufactures space-grade solar panels and batteries for space applications.

In 2021, BHEL successfully commissioned India’s largest floating Solar PV plant. The plant is located at NTPC Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh, the 25 MW floating SPV project covers an area of 100 acres there.
