Adani Green Posts 31% Jump in Revenue, 25% Surge in Profit in Q1 Photograph: (Archive)
Indian renewable project developer Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Monday reported a 31% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue from power supply to ₹3,312 crore in the first quarter of FY26, driven by rapid capacity additions and robust plant performance. Cash profit rose 25% YoY to ₹1,744 crore, while EBITDA also grew 31% to ₹3,108 crore, with a standout margin of 92.8%.
The strong financial performance was underpinned by a 42% YoY increase in energy sales to 10,479 million units, surpassing the company’s entire annual sales in FY22. Operational renewable energy capacity rose 45% YoY to 15.8 GW, reinforcing AGEL’s position as India’s largest renewable power producer.
“Our operational excellence and rapid greenfield expansion—particularly in Khavda and Rajasthan—have delivered both volume growth and industry-leading margins,” said Ashish Khanna, CEO of AGEL. “We added 1.6 GW this quarter alone and 4.9 GW in the past year, marking an unmatched milestone in India’s clean energy transition.”
Khavda Mega Project Gains Momentum
AGEL is currently developing the world’s largest renewable energy installation at Khavda, Gujarat, with a target capacity of 30 GW by 2029. As of June 2025, 5.6 GW of solar, wind and hybrid capacity is already operational. Spread across 538 sq km—five times the size of Paris—the site is a flagship project in India’s green energy push.
The plant deploys advanced technologies such as bifacial solar modules, waterless robotic cleaning, and India’s most powerful 5.2 MW onshore wind turbines, which help increase output while cutting water use and operational costs.
Operational Highlights
Capacity Addition: Greenfield capacity of 1.6 GW added in Q1 FY26; 4.9 GW added in the past year.
Project Sites: Major installations in Khavda (Gujarat), Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh.
Energy Sales: Jumped 42% YoY due to new capacity and improved availability.
Operational Efficiency: AI-enabled monitoring systems helped AGEL exceed PPA commitments, with generation in Q1 reaching 31% of its annual PPA requirement.
AGEL said its operations are increasingly powered by predictive data analytics, helping it maintain high plant uptime and reduce maintenance costs. It also won CII Performance Excellence Awards 2025 for select plants.
