Adani Green Operationalises 448.95 MW Solar Projects In Gujarat Adani Green Operationalizes 1 GW Of 30,000 MW Khavda RE Park

Gujarat-based renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) operationalized an incremental 448.95 MW solar power projects at Khavda, Gujarat.

Together with an earlier intimation of projects, dated February 14, 2024, AGEL aggregated to 1,000 MW solar power projects that are operationalized at Khavda, Gujarat. With the operationalization of these plants, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 9,478 MW in its journey of 45 GW capacity by 2030. It was after making relevant clearances that it was decided to operationalize the plants and commence the sale of the power generated.

Earlier Adani operationalized 551 MW solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, to supply power to the national grid. AGEL achieved this target within 12 months of commencing work on the Khavda RE park. It started with the development of basic infrastructure, including roads and connectivity, and creating a self-sustaining social ecosystem. AGEL also transformed the barren terrain of the Rann of Kutch into a habitable environment for its 8,000-strong workforce.

This project was developed as part of AGEL’s plans to develop 30 GW of renewable energy capacity at this RE park. The planned capacity is expected to be operationalized in the next five years. AGEL claims, “When completed, the Khavda RE park will be the largest renewable energy installation in the world. Energy from the Khavda RE park can power 16.1 million homes each year. With proven expertise in developing large-scale renewable projects, a robust supply chain network, and technological prowess. The region is endowed with one of the best wind and solar resources in the country, which makes it ideal for giga-scale RE development. AGEL conducted studies and deployed multiple innovative solutions to accelerate the development of the plant.
