Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), through its subsidiary Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven, has commissioned an additional 187.5 megawatts (MW) of solar power capacity at Khavda in Gujarat, the company said in a regulatory filing.

“With the operationalization of the latest solar project, AGEL’s total renewable energy capacity has increased to 14,528.4 MW,” it added.

Capex and Growth Outlook for FY26

Speaking during a post-earnings conference call, Adani Green Energy’s Chief Financial Officer Saurabh Shah said the company plans to commission 5 GW of renewable energy capacity in FY26.

“Nearly 95 percent of that capacity is already under various sanctions. We have secured debt tie-ups and do not anticipate any challenges on that front,” Shah said.

CUF Expected to Cross 32% at Khavda

Addressing concerns over the company’s wind capacity utilization factor (CUF), which currently stands at 27%, CEO Ashish Khanna attributed the lower performance to seasonal wind variations. However, he expressed confidence in improved generation.

“Our assets were developed at different times and vary in technology. But with the deployment of new 5.2 MW turbines—India’s largest—at Khavda, we expect a significant improvement in CUF,” Khanna said.

He added that the lower CUF was not unique to AGEL and reflected broader weather patterns affecting all developers. “With more of these high-capacity machines coming online, overall CUF will improve.”

Expansion Plans Through FY26

Khanna said the company expects to add another 4 GW of renewable energy capacity by June and 7 GW by the end of 2025.

Commenting on solar generation, he noted that solar CUF depends heavily on irradiation conditions. “We’re already witnessing CUFs exceeding 32% this quarter, and we expect an annual CUF of around 32% as more projects stabilize,” he said.
