Adani Green Commissions 100 MW Gujarat Wind Project Ahead of Schedule

Adani Green Energy has commissioned a 100 MW wind power plant in Kutch, Gujarat five months ahead of its schedule.

AWEKTL, a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has announced that it has commissioned a 100 MW wind power plant in Kutch, Gujarat five months ahead of its schedule.

The 100 MW wind project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a fixed tariff of Rs 2.82/kWh.

This is the 5th project that AGEL has now commissioned before schedule over the past 12 months.

With the successful commissioning of this plant, the company has an operational wind generation capacity of 497 MW. It has a total renewable capacity of 14,815 MW including 11,470 MW that have been awarded and are different stages of implementation. With this project, the company has added a total renewable capacity of 800 MW in the last 12 months despite the challenges of the COVID19 outbreak.

Like all its other assets, the newly commissioned plant would be managed by the Adani Group’s Intelligent Energy Network Operation Centre’ platform that gives AGEL complete centralised visibility and an ability to manage its renewables assets on pan India basis.

Earlier in February, the firm had announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary ASE4PL has commissioned 100 MW (2 x 50 MW) solar power plants at Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur district and Sahaswan in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh (UP). As per the firm, its team of experts made it possible to commission the plants almost 1 month ahead of their scheduled commissioning date.

Both the plants have Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) at Rs 3.22/kWh and 3.19/kWh, for a period of 25 years.

In December 2020, the firm had announced that Adani Solar Energy Kutchh Two had commissioned a 100 MW ac solar power project at Khirsara, Gujarat, ahead of its scheduled COD according to its 25-year-long Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam India (GUVNL).
