Gurugram-based integrated renewable energy player ACME Solar placed an order for 2 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with leading global energy system supplier Chuzhou Lishen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Sharing the order details in a press release, ACME Solar said it placed the order through POSCO International Corporation and China FAW Group Import and Export Co., Ltd.
The company elaborated, “POSCO International is a global integrated business company based in Korea, with green energy as one of its key focus areas. The order will be delivered in phases over the next six to ten months and will be deployed across ACME Solar’s FDRE (Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy) and standalone BESS projects, scheduled for commissioning over the next 12 to 18 months.”
ACME Solar further explained, “Lishen is one of China’s first lithium-ion battery R&D firms and manufacturers, with 27 years of business experience. Its annual production capacity of 31 GWh of lithium-ion batteries enables Lishen to lead in the global high-end lithium-ion battery market.”
The company added that it also placed an order through China FAW Group Import and Export Co., Ltd., a trading arm of China FAW Group, the country’s first automobile manufacturer and one of its largest state-owned automotive companies. The company manages global import and export operations, covering vehicles, parts, and related technologies.
Order Details
ACME Solar explained that the BESS order will be delivered in phases within the next six to ten months and will be deployed across its FDRE (Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy) and standalone BESS projects, scheduled to be commissioned within 12 to 18 months.
According to Nikhil Dhingra, CEO of ACME Solar, “With this latest order, ACME Solar’s cumulative BESS procurement surpasses 5 GWh, following a previous order of 3.1 GWh BESS placed in July 2025. This strategic purchase will ensure timely availability of BESS system, playing a key role in de-risking project commissioning timelines & accelerating overall project delivery.”
