ACME Cleantech Solutions Wins SECI’s Green Ammonia Tender

SECI recently awarded its 724,000-tonne green ammonia tender to ACME Cleantech Solutions at Rs 55.75/kg. As per the tender results, the green ammonia from this project will be supplied to Paradeep Phosphates Limited. SECI released the tender in June and awarded the winning bid a month later.

The latest project has been awarded for Project-V at Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL), with procurement to take place in Paradeep, Odisha. SECI has more tenders of this nature in the pipeline. The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) for the full project capacity will be 36 months from the effective date of the Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA). 

About the Tender

SECI's Green Ammonia tender mandates the offtake of green ammonia to help decarbonize India’s fertilizer sector. It calls for the production and supply of 724,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually across 13 fertilizer plants. The tender falls under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme – Mode 2A, Tranche I.

SECI will anchor demand aggregation and sign long-term offtake agreements, providing producers with market certainty over a 10-year contract period. The tender was issued on June 7, 2024, and SECI invited bids until June 26, 2025, announcing the results a month later.

To ensure financial viability, the government is offering incentives under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, with Production Linked Incentives (PLI) of Rs 8.82/kg, Rs 7.06/kg, and Rs 5.30/kg for the first three years, respectively, amounting to a total support of Rs 1,533.4 crore.
