ABB India announced that it has secured an INR 173.55 crore order from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power, Chennai, for supplying 3.X wind turbine converters and electrical cabinets. Readers will recall that Siemens Gamesa in India and Sri Lanka is now private equity owned, with Siemens divesting 90% of the firm to TPG, even as it retained a 10% stake in the Indian entity.
The components will be manufactured on a built-to-print basis at ABB India Nelamangala factory, with deliveries scheduled monthly from January 2026 through December 2026, ensuring a continuous supply throughout the year. ABB India Nelamangala facility is situated in Karnataka.
Financial Performance Context
In Q1 FY26, ABB India reported a 12.17 percent increase in revenue from operations, reaching INR 3,175.44 crore compared to the same period last year. However, its standalone net profit declined by 20.68 percent to INR 351.74 crore.
ABB is a global technology provider with operations spanning electrification, process automation, motion (drives and motors), and robotics & discrete automation. This contract strengthens ABB India’s presence in the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind power infrastructure.
Siemens Gamesa has recently finalized the Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) and the Offshore Long-Term Programme Service Agreement (LTPSA) with Skyborn Renewables for the 976.5 MW Gennaker offshore wind project. This landmark project is poised to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, highlighting Siemens Gamesa’s expanding role in delivering cutting-edge renewable energy solutions.
