The month of October 2025 saw a 40 percent increase in EV two wheeler sales compared to the month of Septmber as the numbers rose from about 1.04 lakh to roughly 1.44 lakh this month. This saw the cumulative total for the year reach to 10,63,000 this year so far, with about two months to go.
Due to the festive season, while the jump was considerable from last month, the y-o-y sales increased marginally for the month - from 1.4 lakh in October 2024 to roughly 1.44 lakh, increasing less than 3 percent.

Segment Leaders
Bajaj Auto is the segment leader for the month of October overtaking TVS Motor. Bajaj registered a considerable jump of roughly 60 percent - from 19,700 in September to over 31,000 in October.
TVS Motor followed with roughly 29,500 EV two wheeler (e2w) sales in October, up from 22,700 previously.
Following closely, Ather Energy registered about 28,000 e2w sales for the month, up 53 percent from the previous month. Others leaders in the segment include Ola Electric and Hero Motocorp with about 16,000 EV two wheeler sales. Greaves Electric is also showing the promise with monthly sales rising to 7,600 in October.
Cumulative Total for the Year
The cumulative total of electric two wheeler sales was dominated by TVS motor with over 2.44 lakh vehicles sold in the first ten months of the year. Bajaj is the only other manufacturer with over 2 lakh sales, registering about 2.26 lakh new e2w vehicles so far.

Ola Electric and Ather Energy are other major players with 1.82 lakh and 1.63 lakh sales so far. Hero Motocorp rounds up the top 5 leaders, having registered 86,500 vehicles so far. Overall India has registered sales of over 10.6 lakh EV units in the two wheeler segment, over 75 percent of which is contributed by these firms so far.
