The company's ongoing projects span Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. According to BloombergNEF, Trina’s developments contribute to a projected 16 GWh of new battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in the region this year.

Amid surging demand for grid-scale storage in key APAC markets, Trina has been tapped to supply advanced BESS technology for several large renewable energy projects. These include a 1.7 GWh installation in South Asia—among the region’s largest—and a 500 MWh project for the Limestone Coast North Energy Park in Australia.

The projects are supported by Trina’s Elementa Series, which is an integrated storage platform built using the company’s in-house lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. Trina’s product optimises performance from cell to grid, and its in-house cell manufacturing allows it greater control over quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Features

The Elementa Series includes a smart thermal management system that keeps cell temperature variation within 3°C and limits auxiliary power consumption to 1.8%. These features are designed to reduce energy losses by up to 30% compared to conventional systems and potentially increase annual usable energy.

Trina Storage backs its solutions with stable supply chains, long-term warranties, and performance guarantees, ensuring system reliability and strong bankability. The company has also been listed in BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 energy storage manufacturers for six consecutive quarters and consistently ranks high in the agency’s bankability survey of global storage providers and integrators.

Supported by global technical expertise and local teams, Trina’s solutions claim to comply with international safety and performance standards—including IEC, UL, and NFPA—as well as local certifications in markets such as Australia and Japan.

Leadership View

With utility-scale projects underway across the region, Trina Storage continues to expand its footprint and support APAC's clean energy transition through safe, high-performing, and future-ready energy storage solutions.

"Our growing presence across APAC reflects not only strong market demand but growing recognition of Trina Storage's differentiated technology, delivery capabilities, and long-term reliability," said Leo Zhao, Head of Energy Storage at Trinasolar Asia Pacific.

"Trina Storage is well-prepared, with a full-scope delivery framework from manufacturing to commissioning. In key markets, we have established expert local teams who understand regional policies, grid requirements, and market dynamics," he added.
