Wind Specialist

• Oversee the collection and quality control of meteorological data to ensure maximum data coverage and minimum uncertainty
• Ensure meteorological station contractors comply with relevant safety and technical requirements
• Design of optimal site-specific measurement campaigns for wind farm sites, including cost/benefit assessments of different technologies
• Align with the BPP process and carry out energy yield estimation and propose relevant optimization based on constraints
• Responsible and take ownership in specific development projects for site-specific energy production and red flag study of 3^rd party assessments
• Communication of site-specific energy production and site condition risks to project teams, ensuring risks are understood by the business; communication is through presentation deliverables and verbal updates at project meetings
• Wind farm turbine layout and energy optimization using WindFarmer, windPRO and Openwind
• Contribution with relevant risk indicators and mitigation plan based on maturity of project with increased accuracy & reduced uncertainty from origination to construction stage of project
• Experience with python programming would be an advantage
• Experience in MS Office especially Excel
• Ensure the quality outcome to the team member's deliverables w.r.t Onshore Wind Modelling overall standards/process
• Onshore Wind Modelling standards/process owner
• Process audit w.r.t standard deliverables

Qualification And Experience:-

• Engineering degree, Masters would be an added advantage.
• 12-18 years of Experience in wind meteorology, wind due diligence and wind industry with wind resource assessment and siting experience
• Ability to train and mentor fresh graduates employees with simple examples
• Motivated and self-starter attitude with desire to support continued improvement
• Expected structured way of working and communication though the whole value chain of process through wind modelling
• Excellent communication skills along good interpretation of data
• Has experience in handling global weather data
• Experience working for a lenders’ advisor/OEM’s or consultants, lender’s advisor would be advantage
• Experience with wind modelling and data analysis tools
• Experience with GIS and GPS tools
• Experience with site visit would be an advantage
• Experience with non-linear wind modelling tools such as Meteodyn, WindSim, WAsP CFD
• Excellent communication skills, a strong mathematical and analysis background, and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical colleagues are essential
• Highly analytical with attention to detail and ability to exercise engineering judgement
• Strong communication skills both verbally and written and great attention to detail
• Ability to peer review colleagues projects with sniper’s eye level on details to capture
• Ability to mentor and guide the junior employees to best direction in the project
• SPoC for specific region / country
