Job Description

The purpose of Vertical Head – SAP job role is to support upcoming SAP S/4 HANA implementation and manage the platform from technical and program management governance and  operation perspective. The role will responsible for smooth running of entire SAP application landscape like, SAP Digital Core, Ariba, IBP, Concur and SuccessFactors, SAP-CX within BEL. The role will drive and lead SAP S/4 HANA ERP and peripheral SAP cloud systems and. underlying IT infrastructure. The position SAP-Head will be responsible for ensuring smooth running of day to day SAP IT Systems. The role will work very closely with business stakeholders and define the SAP releases to support business critical process. SAP Head will play critical role in collaborating with other IT vertical heads including Digital Development department leads to ensure smooth SAP roll-out and SAP System operations. The role will also be responsible for driving change management and support SAP competency building within IT & Digital team. The role will be responsible for SAP systems and will significantly contribute in ensuring SAP and non-SAP systems runs smoothly.  The role will define the SAP technology roadmap and contribute to the strategic directions and adopt new technology under CIO organization.

Responsibilities & Authorities:-

As a ‘Vertical Head – SAP’, the candidate will be responsible to provide the SAP competency, consulting, operation readiness and technical support to adopt SAP systems within BEL IT application landscape.

Major areas of responsibility will include but not limited to:

  • IT project management and governance during SAP HANA implementation.
  • Supporting PMO and other application leads to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Lead SAP roll-out with implementation partners to ensure successful implementation.
  • Provide SAP functional and technical support during the implementation.
  • Support the implementation by reviewing project plan, requirement and other deliverables.
  • Work with business to ensure the Blueprinting and adherence to the business processes as per ITGC.
  • Manage Change Requests and release management through Change Control Board
  • Ensure Best Solution Approach and Best Practices are followed while CR implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement / automation.
  • Hiring and managing Team with SAP skillsets within department and IT vendors.
  • Develop necessary skillset in SAP within the team and cross functional team.
  • Ensuring improvements in end user experience by adopting latest technology and automation.
  • Ensuring SAP requirements are met for the business in accordance with technology road-map.
  • Working with business unit and department heads to understand the SAP related requirements.
  • Converting the business requirements in the technical requirements and ensure smooth UAT.
  • Providing day to day guidance as and when required to drive the SAP related initiatives.
  • Vendor management related with SAP application landscape and underlying infrastructure.
  • Drive SAP continuous improvement initiatives around Performance, readiness and compliances.
  • Plan the SAP releases and patches as per the SAP release schedule and change management.
  • Ensure strict SAP platform System administration in accordance with best practice and compliances.
  • Manage project management for SAP CR releases as per the business priority and IT roadmap.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance for the SAP application landscape.
  • Process definition and ensuring adherence toward managing the SAP application landscape.
  • Responsible for creating and reviewing project related documentations and ensuring adherence.
  • Responsible for building knowledge repository and mentoring team around SAP.
  • Responsible for SAP Project Planning, resource planning, budget planning and quality delivery.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • Essential Qualification: Engineering Graduate (B. E. / B. Tech)
  • Desirable Qualification: PMP, Scrum-master, SAP Certifications
  • 12+ years of experience in SAP
  • Should have managed one large implementation of SAP S/4 HANA and SAP CX.

Other Requirements:-

  • Should have worked on various Digital Core SAP HANA modules like – FI, CO, MM, SD, PS, QM,  WMS, EPM & EPPM.
  • Should have worked on Ariba, Concur, IBP, Group Reporting, GST, FSCM.
  • Should have exposure to Sales Cloud, CPQ, commerce cloud and service cloud.
  • Good team management and team building skills.
  • Domain knowledge of EPC and Consumer Goods Business.
