Job Description

Reporting to the Chief of Unit Knowledge Management & Capacity Building or a designated officer, you will be responsible for helping advance the solar transition missions of our member countries, technically supporting them deploy the suite of ISA programs. You will play a lead role for ISA, through accelerating the development and deployment of solar technology and mustering technology support for an equitable and inclusive transition to a decarbonized electricity system.

Your Broader Scope of Work (but not limited to)

Strategic Support with Energy Transition and Technology Development:-

  • Support our member countries, from strategic planning (technology) and program management to the execution of solar engineering and technical programs.
  • Leverage your knowledge, experience, and capabilities to provide a mission- driven solution(s), transforming them into our member state mission needs and an overall strategic
  • support solar energy research, development, demonstration, and technology assistance including in manufacturing and competitiveness, soft costs, solar knowledge and capacity development, and equitable/ inclusive access to solar
  • Your knowledge of improving the affordability, reliability, and benefit of solar technologies internationally will be highly
  • Liaise with relevant team leads and field offices in developing knowledge products and in organizing knowledge and technology learning platforms to promote the internal and external sharing of knowledge, and to assist member states with technology capacity

Education:-

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physical An undergraduate degree with at least 2 additional years of experience will be considered as well

Experiences:-

  • It is preferred that the successful candidate has 12 years of relevant professional work experience within the private sector/Multilateral Organisations/ International Organisations/ Govt/ donor
  • Experience and or knowledge of similar work being undertaken in one of the three target regions for ISA (Africa, Asia/Pacific, Latin America) will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience in conducting risk assessments to guide fund mobilisation priorities and project initiation decisions in a complex regulatory
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills on highly technical solar programs
  • A strategic experience in stakeholder relationship management/technology management within the solar energy
  • Demonstrated solar technology project management Experience, including balancing multiple assignments from conception to completion on schedule and within budget

Languages & IT skills:-

  • The role demands substantial writing and verbal communications skills. As English is the official and working language of the Organization, excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other languages (i.e., French, Spanish and Arabic) would be an advantage. The role demands substantial writing and verbal communications skills.

  • Satisfactory skills in Outlook, MS Office products, and experience with the various ERP systems required to manage this role is required
