Job Description

  • Maintenance Controls tech is responsible for installing, troubleshooting (Emergency Repair) and maintaining production tools in the lines.
  • This includes Preventive, Predictive & Repair Maintenance activities for all manufacturing production tools such as electrical systems, PLC control, conveyors, Robots and material handling machines. Basic electronics component calibration or adjustment may be required from time to time.
  • Ensure assigned PM – Job Plans and Work Orders from CMMS system are carried out timely and complied with company PM requirements.
  • Work closely with relevant teams such as MES, MFG, Field Service Engineers, and HSRT team to support tool upgrade projects and production line capacity expansion when required.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:-

  • Perform schedule PM maintenance for Robots, electronics or electrical equipment, UPS and Electrical Panel of production tools as directed by supervisor. Make sure quality workmanship and PM Green to Green are meeting the company requirements
  • Support Pit stop, Target change and major upgrade activities whenever needed.
  • Carry out IR scan (electrical heat inspection) for critical electrical panels.
  • Fully train and comply to LOTO regulations
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen or continuous improvement program to reduce maintenance cost, increase tool MA and optimize spare parts consumption.
  • Work with Equipment Engineer to review the safety stock for spares and timely escalate if any spare shortage arises.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and PLC problems in the lines.
  • Install or upgrade new programs and adjusts electrical and mechanical component to meet the latest technology roll out
  • Perform tests and maintenance on mechanical, electrical and measuring instrument; interpret readings and outputs of electronic components; ensure proper functioning of equipment and related networking systems.
  • Assist MES with the setup, installation and testing of all communication devices for PLC and device network.
  • Work with vendor to perform major repair or Controls’ task when needed.
  • Comply to EHS safety procedures in accordance to ISO 45001 regulations
  • Perform basic programming for production tools and networking systems; PLC programs and sensors associated to inputs/outputs signals.
  • Ensure work orders are accurate and fully complete; performs accurate record-keeping
  • Conduct root cause and problem solving analysis for major tool breakdown.
  • Timely report and escalate major downtime issue to next level of expertise.
  • Record and report equipment failure history, provide equipment health trending for long term preventive action
  • Assists in evaluating and training junior technicians
  • Perform other assignments as required.

Education & Experience:-

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Automation, Mechatronic, Robotics, or Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in automation industry of HVM manufacturing environment, and
  • Hands on experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical devices, PLC (Logic Controllers) and
  • Well verse in Robotic, Camera vision and Rockwell/Omron automation systems

Technical:-

  • Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators/AC/DC Drivers, servomotors, Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex, Keyence)
  • Troubleshoot control system related to electrical/electronic devices/pneumatic, measuring instrument, inverter, robot, PLC/HMI.
  • Proven skills of programming Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC, including ladder and block diagram, controls network configuration such as ControlNet, DeviceNet or Ethernet.
  • Having basic knowledge of Cognex vision camera configuration and programming experience
  • Fully understand Electrical safety hazards and LOTO (Lockout Tag Out) procedure.
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance program.
  • Good knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Ability to learn CMMS (Maximo, Oracle) system.
  • Must be capable of pulling report and entering data or pass downs into/from the CMMS/Maximo system.
  • Ability to interpret technical manual, circuit
