Job Description

Tool Engineering is part of Engineering department in EBSC. This department has expertise in Engineering data analysis, technical documentation, Product/ Process Quality control, Business Process, Tooling design, Test systems, Enterprise Asset Management, ERP solutions and Project management, would support Vestas global strategies through process optimization, production support, test validation, cost control and E2E Project Management. The tooling design team is responsible for developing and maintaining concepts, processes and tools for Manufacturing & Production of wind turbine components/assembly. We impose creative solutions and develop continuous improvement culture to make Vestas vision come true

Responsibilities:-

  • Ensure that the technical scope is fully specified according to Vestas way to Market, developed and integrates with the Manufacturing value chain
  • Support definition of the technical scope with relevant functional responsible(e.g. Factory TS Team,Project Manager,VPS NPI Team etc.)
  • Align with Line manager on the competence needs for technical work tasks
  • Align with Global Procurement on identification of competence and quality requirement for the outsourcing of technical tasks
  • Review Layout and Tool Tracker
  • Facilitate and attend design reviews as needed
  • Create, maintain and communicate overviews of technical performance, risk and cost(CAPEX/OPEX)
  • Identifying, documenting, communicating and mitigating technical risk within the project

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering/Management or allied.
  • Prince 2 or PMP Certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience in Mechanical design and specification in compliant to the relevant international standards
  • Experience: Minimum 1 years of experience in handling Projects as Assistant Project Manager.

Competencies:-

  • Should have a minimum of 10 Years of relevant work experience in Engineering & Manufacturing Industries, which includes Sourcing, Technology (R &D), Heavy engineering installations, Service etc.
  • Should have been a Project Lead for Medium & Large projects involving cross-Functional & cross-Cultural teams.
  • Should have the ability to understand the Full Value Chain in any organization with detailed level of Economic understanding and be able to define Critical path in any project to work focused.
  • Should be having a Techno-Commercial exposure with experience in handling all kinds of Projects like Technology transfer projects, Design upgrade projects, Facility upgrade projects, Launch of new Products in other regions across the globe, Construction projects and Offshoring projects of shifting tasks from one country to another.
  • High level of Project management skills with technical background will be a added advantage.
  • Should have exposure into development life cycle of engineering components as well – right from the process of validation of technical drawings & details, supplier development, pricing finalization, prototyping of components / assembly etc.
  • Project management skills with ability to work cross cultural and cross functional environment are needed
  • Change management skills (good in communication, training, coaching)
  • Self-driven, proactive – take responsibility to ensure progress and results
  • Open and seek collaboration with team-members + engage collaborative approach with staff in each function across the organization.
  • Take responsibility for own area and interact as integrated team-member with other team members
  • Understand Production setup thoroughly (including planning and execution) and Systems / Processes followed in large companies
