Sustainable Procurement Specialist

Job Description

  • Understand the sustainable procurement framework of Schneider Electric and gain subject matter knowledge on ESG-environmental, social and governance topics including climate change and human rights etc. (training will be provided).
  • Development of suppliers on various sustainability initiatives and provide on-site support
  • Lead implementation of designated sustainability initiatives with suppliers, mentioned below but not limited to (people with expertise on more than one domain are welcome)
    • The Zero Carbon Project: Responsible for:
      • Onboarding suppliers on sustainability initiatives
      • Support procurement teams by providing innovative solutions for sustainability challenges
      • Support supplier decarbonization with inputs on:
        • Carbon footprint calculation & reduction target
        • Training
        • Climate governance and change management
        • Onsite assessment and benchmarking
        • Energy audit and techno-commercial solution
        • Implementation hand holding and periodic monitoring
    • Decent work program
      • Develop solution for chronic challenges related to working conditions
      • Engage and lead the execution with suppliers
      • Develop innovative models for implementation with suppliers
      • Quantification of benefits
  • Business Process Optimization:-
      • Optimization of business processes to take the procurement sustainability to next level
      • Work collaboratively with other departments (Procurement, Finance, HR, IT, etc. as required) to improve data integrity or clear system issues.
  • Training & Change Management:-
    • Develop subject matter expertise (ESG-environmental, social and governance topics) and stay abreast of new or existing technologies through application training to promote effective system performance and optimize business utilization of applications.
    • Support and coach additional team members
  • Qualifications:-

     

    • Technical expertise (one or more areas)
      • Decarbonization
        • 5+ years working experience in energy audits in manufacturing industries
        • Must be a certified energy auditor (by domestic or international bodies)
        • Hands on experience on ISO 50001 audits
        • Strong demonstration of energy saving projects and/or CO2e emission reduction project
      • Decent work & labor rights
        • Hands on experience on factory audits in labor/human rights
        • Awareness about global regulations on working conditions
    • Procurement/supplier engagement/management/sourcing background
    • Strong verbal/written English communications skills
    • Excellent reporting skills
    • Advanced digital skills: Tableau, AI, ML, RPAs and understanding of programming algorithm to develop RPA capability within team.
      • Strong MS Office tool skills are mandatory
    • Ability to work in complex virtual organization
    • Process and technology oriented
    • Demonstrated leadership skills: Influence, drive for results, effective planning / prioritization, project management & collaboration
    • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Industrial Relations (focus on worker rights), Labor Laws, Supply chain, Information Systems, Business, Accounting or Engineering
  • Preference will be given to candidate with
    • Knowledge and/or experience in
      • GHG Protocol
      • ISO 14064
      • CO2e emission calculation and reduction
      • SA 8000
      • Exposure to data sciences and advanced languages (Python)
